The Mukluk is a super versatile fat bike with its alternator dropouts and several water and accessory mounts for the ultimate bike packing experience. The alternator dropout allows you to run singlespeed, geared or internal hubs with ease. The 2016 Mukluk has a new geometry to match the Blackbarrow and now comes with a carbon fork. The Mukluk is made out of heat treated aluminum, is suspension corrected, has a tapered headtube, and can fit a 29+ or 5 in tire on 80mm rims with its 170mm rear end. With the rest of Salsa Fat bike line, the front fork is now 15×150 spaced.
The build for the 2016 Mukluk has changed as well. Salsa went with the Sun Mulefut 80mm rims for most of there builds this year and it comes with a Sram x7 derailleurs and X5 shifters for its 2×10 drivetrain. It also comes with Sram Hydraulic disc brakes, Surly Nate tires and new orange anodized Mulefut rims.
